While finishing my bestselling book Magnetic Habits, I was watching Deadpool 2 when one character stopped me in my tracks: Domino. Her superpower wasn’t strength, speed, or invisibility. Her superpower was luck. At first, I thought luck as a superpower was silly. But the idea stayed with me. Most people think luck is random—you either have it or you don’t. So I started asking myself: Can luck be harnessed? Not superhero luck, but real-life luck. I began researching the psychology of luck, neuroscience, the power of beliefs, identity, and habit formation. Then I experimented on myself. I started using Lucky as my nickname—even asking my AI assistant to call me Lucky. The more I heard it, said it, and saw it, the more I believed it. And something interesting happened: I started becoming luckier. Green lights. Great parking spaces. Helpful people. Unexpected opportunities and financial wins. Perfect timing. Little moments of good fortune I might once have overlooked. The more I noticed luck, the more evidence of luck I found.
